Tesla Model S

An all-new zero emissions GT racing series is scheduled to take place in 2017 and it just has been announced that the critically-acclaimed Tesla Model S will be making an appearance.

The Electric GT Word Series will consist of 20 drivers in 10 teams of two, battling against each other in a series of races spanning across America, Europe and Asia.

According to reports, a modified version of the Tesla Model S P85+ will be the standard vehicle, which all the contestants will be driving.

Although the racing series is still over a year away, we’re very much looking forward to seeing how it will turn out. We’re very used to seeing standard racing cars competing on the track, however when it comes to all-electric, zero-emissions car, we’ve never seen anything quite like it, at least not on such a large scale.

The series will definitely differ a lot from standard racing series, however we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out exactly how different it will actually be.

We’re not really surprised by the decision to make the Tesla Model S the standard car as it’s considered by many to be one of the best all-electric vehicles currently on the market. Tesla definitely offers quality, which is why we’re so excited to see the modified Model S.

Currently, the road version of the Model S is capable of reaching a top speed of 130 mph (210 km/h), however we can probably expect the modified version to be much faster.

We probably will have to wait a little while longer for more information to be revealed, so stay tuned as we will keep you up to date with all the latest on the new Electric GT World Series.
